Indian Land SC

Indian Land

The Indian Land Community is the northern section of Lancaster County, SC., often referred to as the Panhandle. We are bordered to the north by the North Carolina State Line (Charlotte City limits), to the west by York County, to the east by Union County, NC. and to the south by the rest of Lancaster County. Indian Land is rich in history and legends, from the birthplace of Andrew Jackson, revolutionary battles, and rich farmland to tales of the Tory Trading path, Camden to Charlotte highway, and the Catawba and Waxhaw Indian tribes.

Our community was once rural farmland, cattle and horses roamed green rolling pastures. Cotton and cornfields filled most open areas between beautiful woodlands made up of both evergreen and hardwood foliage. Many ponds dot the landscape; they rendered water for animals, a cool refreshing swim on a hot summer afternoon, and stories of the "big one that got away".

Now we have a unique community where housing developments, commercial properties, and rural country life coexist. We welcome all new citizens to our community.
